In case you didn’t know…

Not actually anyone at TheInfiniteAmmo. But thanks anyway, random Flickr search!

Not actually anyone at TheInfiniteAmmo. But thanks anyway, random Flickr search!

We here at TheInfiniteAmmo/ByteGamer are still hard at work on the new site!

However, I thought you’d like to know that despite the hiatus on this site, I’m still actively reviewing games!

Here’s what I have reviewed so far this year:

Shadow Complex – XBLA

Batman: Arkham Asylum – X360

Muramasa: The Demon Blade – Wii

Halo 3: ODST – X360

Also, there will be a Scribblenauts review in next week’s Current. Sorry Playstation owners, you’re out of luck–I don’t have a PS3, so I can’t review PS3 games. I’m working on fixing that, though.

I haven’t forgotten about you!

Loyal readers, fear not!

We here at TheInfiniteAmmo have not forgot about you!

It’s just that we’re hard at work building the new ByteGamer Web site for you all.

It’s a lot of work, but it will be worth it in the end. We’ll have a lot to offer you!

So stay patient, stay with us, and most of all, keep coming back to the site! We enjoy seeing your shiny, smiling faces.

Or your torches and pitchforks.

Either way, we’re happy when you’re happy!

His terrible death whinny: Whedon and team win a “Horrible” Emmy

New Video, the company that released Joss Whedon’s fantastic supervillian musical “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog” on DVD, has let the media know that the series recently took home an Emmy award!

Quote from New Video by way of Evilavatar.com:

The blockbuster internet phenomenon took home an Emmy this past Saturday at the Creative Arts Primetime Emmy Awards held at the NOKIA Theatre in L.A. “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” won for “Outstanding Special Class- Short Format Live-Action Entertainment Program”. From beloved creator Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dollhouse) and starring Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Castle), and Felicia Day (The Guild)—along with Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory) as Moist—this game-changing sensation is available on DVD from NEWVIDEO NYC.

Born during the Writers’ Strike in 2008 as a free streaming internet miniseries, DR. HORRIBLE’S SING-ALONG BLOG became an instant success, premiering on iTunes as the #1 downloaded TV season for 3 weeks running, and currently still residing in the Top 10 of all TV shows. The soundtrack of such hit songs from the film as “My Freeze Ray” and “My Eyes” debuted at #1 in soundtracks on iTunes and made the Top 40 Album list on release. High schools have performed the piece as their spring musical and fans have created their own action figures.”

Congrats, Joss and team. You folks deserve it!

And for those of you who haven’t experienced the awesomeness that is Dr. Horrible, shame on you!

All three of you.

Microsoft quietly announces Zune HD will have games

Microsoft quietly let is slip via Wired that the Zune HD would have a few games avaliable to buy and play when the portable device launches tomorrow.

Could this be Microsoft’s first salvo of a renewed attack against the juggernaut that is the Apple App Store?

Perhaps. For something that should be front-page news, next to nothing has been said about this until, what is this, the night before it launches?

Buy.com had a few videos of aforementioned games, but they were quickly pulled. Luckily, Wired managed to snag a few. They’re right over here.

So, who’s getting a Zune HD tomorrow?

Direct2Drive having massive $5.00 fire sale

Okay, so I’m not sure how a digital distribution service can have a “fire” sale, but damn, these deals are hot.

In honor of their 5th anniversary, IGN’s Direct2Drive service is having five weeks of specials, with each week’s games centered around a theme.

This week’s theme is “Action” games, and D2D has some great deals:

There’s quite a few more; I’ve only listed some of the best here.

If you haven’t played the exceptional STALKER: SoC, it’s easily worth $5. Heck, I own two copies of the game (funnt story, that), and I even bought them at the full retail price! And if you haven’t experienced BioShock, now is the perfect time to get edumacated before the sequel comes out next year.

Quit Playin’ Games with my heart: Sega announces new 2D Sonic

courtesy of gamespot.com

Oh, Sega. Have you finally gotten your act together?

I hope so, but I’m not sure–you’ve burned me so many times before.

Sega has announced an all-new, “built from the ground up” 2D Sonic the Hedgehog game.

Coming by way of GameSpot, not a whole lot has been revealed about the game. On the link is an exclusive Gamespot trailer. Watch it if you want–it’s not much. Just a blue blur and some ACTIONTEXTOMG.

The story so far:

  • The game’s working title: “Project Needlemouse”.
  • 2D engine, built from the ground up.
  • HD Graphics.
  • Releasing sometime in 2010.
  • No platforms announced yet.

Oh, yeah. Handhelds. What’s this baloney about taking Sonic back to his 2D roots?

They’ve been trying to do that for years on the Gameboy Advance/Nintendo DS, and they haven’t had much luck.

Sega, here’s a protip: if you have to include multiple characters, just include Tails and Knuckles. That’s it. No others. I mean it! I see Amy Rose, and there will be hell to pay.
