The Infinite Ammo

Not quite sure what’s in the water these days, but it might just be a ball gag.

Tonight, Infinite Ammo has the pleasure (snicker) of bringing you two different games on the same wavelength: BDSM.

Normally a touchy subject (snicker snicker), BDSM games have been on the outskirts of the gaming scene since the Custer’s Revenge for the Atari 2600. One can find them in seedy little corners of the Interwebs, a Flash game here, a hacked ROM for ZSNES, and so on.

However, it looks like BDSM games are coming from behind (! Okay, I’ll stop.) and taking their rightful places in the Indie scene.

First on the menu we have “Mighty Jill Off”, a “Mighty Bomb Jack” (I see what you did there) clone.

Mighty Jill Off is one of those easy-to-play, difficult-to-master games. It’s done in the retro-pixel style, and consists of almost entirely vertical play. It’s a frustrating game. Sure, you have infinite lives, but one false move… One almost has to be a masochist to play the game (OH. Now I really see what you did there).

The plot revolves around Jill Off, the sub in the sub/dom relationship, vying for the right to lick the boot of her dom/mistress, The Queen. What ensues is possibly the best love story since Yorda and Ico. Fantastic game, and the art by Harvey James is wonderful. And yes, I am aware I’m using the terms “fantastic” and “wonderful” in a mini-review of a BDSM game.

Moving on, we have adultswim.com’s newest Flash game, “Dungeons and Dungeons”.

Dungeons and Dungeons is a neat little platforming Flash game. You play as dominatrix Sadie, and your sidekick Max (Ah, I get it…) follows you around everywhere. It’s Max that uses the different weapons in the game, from a feather you can use to fly over baddies and obstacles to a cat-’o'-nine-tails, a candle, and more. Dungeons and Dungeons is a fun multi-level timewaster, though there’s not altogether that much in way of plot–but then again, there doesn’t need to be. 1) It’s an adultswim.com game, and 2) it’s a BDSM game. How much plot do you need?

Now of course, neither of these two games are all that explicit. The explicit BDSM games will probably forever cling to the dark corners and shadows of the Internet. Now these light-hearted, fun romps through BDSM-lite, however, just might be the new thing.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a nice comfy bed waiting for me.

Edit: I…I guess I should be more clear: I’m not a BDSM enthusiast; I haven’t ever nor will I ever engage in BDSM. I just thought that two similar games released so close together was noteworthy, and worth exploring as a games journalist. Thanks for reading!
