Gamemas – Day 10

I’m going to be completely honest with you here.

Day X isn’t a final fantasy. Nor is it a megaman game.

Oh no. The Infinite Ammo’s pulling out the big guns. In fact…

“On the tenth day of Gamemas, The Infinite Ammo had me play…”

ACE COMBAT X: SKIES OF DECEPTION!

I’m still going to be honest and say I don’t own a PSP, nor do have I ever played this game. But it’s one of the small group of games to have an “X” or a 10 in the title, so deal with it.

ACX: SoD reviewed reasonably well. Out in 2006, IGN gave it an 8.7, GameInformer an 8.25, and Gamespot an 8.2. MetaCritic ranking is 75, so there’s that.

I’m going to copy and paste from the MetaCritic site; brace for impact!

With licensed aircraft such as the F-14D and Tornado F3, and a strategic AI system where the course of the player’s actions directly affect their mission objectives, Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception allows the player to take on the role of an ace pilot trying to liberate his home country of Aurelia from its neighbor, Leasath. A country filled with secretive motives veiled behind long-internal conflicts, Leasath, has invaded and taken over Aurelia. Defending the invaded country, the player’s mission is to take them to the battle-filled skies in order to take down the enemy and restore freedom and peace to his homeland. Rounding out the list of features, Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception allows players to tune their original aircrafts with parts unlocked in Campaign Mode to further enhance their flying experience. Nice, eh? I only did that because I haven’t personally played it–or know anyone that has. Speaking of that…have you? Let us know, in the comments!

Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception is available for the PSP only, and here’s that ever-so-handy Amazon link.
They have the price new at ~$48. Do yourself a favor and pick up this two-year-old game used for considerably cheaper. Not that it’s not worth it, cause I’m sure it is. But just cause, man, near $50 for a 2-year-old PSP game is kinda criminal.

Two more days, folks. Hope you’re having a great Gamemas!
